MS Dhoni Praises Bowlers for Bowling to The Plan

Rising Pune Supergiants displayed an allround performance against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla to register their third win of the season.

It was an important win for the Supergiants, especially seeing how the bowlers performed for them, leaving the skipper MS Dhoni delighted.

The bowlers restricted Delhi to a moderate total, and later Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten fifty, and scorching knocks from others took them over the line.

“The bowlers were bowling to the plan. It felt nice to restrict them to 160,” Dhoni said in post-match presentation. “We can take a lot of positives, because it was the bowling we were a little worried about.”

“The execution was much better, they bowled to the field. If you keep the death overs aside, you have to bowl to the field,” he added. “In the death overs, I feel, the good bowlers are those who double-bluff the batsmen.”

Scott Boland and Ravichandran Ashwin bowled tight overs towards the end, and didn’t allow the Daredevils to run away with the proceedings.

The Supergiants also fielded pretty well, and pulled off run outs of Delhi’s acting captain JP Duminy and Jayant Yadav.
