MS Dhoni Terms Rising Pune Supergiants’ Win a ‘Well-Earned Victory’

It took a while for Rising Pune Supergiants to fire as a single unit, but they managed to do it by beating Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

MS Dhoni’s men came out with a near-perfect performance against Delhi. They bowled well, fielded brilliantly and were clinical with the bat.

It was just their third win in nine matches, but a much-needed one, seeing how they are placed at the moment with just six points in nine matches

Captain Dhoni was also a relived man after beating the Daredevils, and termed the Supergiants win ‘a well-earned victory’ in an interview.

“Overall it was a well-earned victory for us,” Dhoni said. “When you have lost five games, it’s important to take whatever comes your way.”

The Supergiants have just three wins under their belt in nine matches, and their win over Delhi came after losing two successive matches in the league.

They are required to win their remaining five matches to stand any chance of reaching the knockout stage of the Indian Premier League.

For the Supergiants, it is going to be a massive task to reach the knockouts. “This victory was very much needed, gives us that bit of confidence,” Dhoni insisted.
