MS Dhoni struck form for his state side Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and played a knock filled with determination and grit against Gujarat in Bangalore.
Despite MS Dhoni’s fighting knock, Jharkhand couldn’t register two wins in a row, and faced a -run defeat. They had won their last match against J&K by a fine nine-run margin.
Jharkhand’s innings never really got going, and despite a valiant effort from MS Dhoni, who made a 64-ball 44, they could only manage to post an under-par 177 on the board.
MS Dhoni tried to revive Jharkhand’s innings by trying to construct partnership with the lower-middle order, but he never really got support from any of the batsmen.
Chasing 177 was never a mammoth task for Gujarat, and without coming under pressure they did it in style by losing just four wickets at the end.
