Practice makes things perfect. It is what keeps MS Dhoni going in life. There is practically nothing left for him to achieve both as a captain and player. Still Dhoni doesn’t fall short of achieving his targets.
Dhoni spends hours batting in the nets. Every time his team take the field he helps youngsters with his experience. T20 series decider against England in Bangalore was the latest occasion when his fans saw Dhoni of old.
Promoted ahead of Yuvraj in a crucial game, he responded with a brilliant 56 off 36 deliveries. This was the time of the match when India had lost two wickets within the eight over and needed some solid partnership to make it work.
Dhoni had a crucial fourth wicket stand of 55 runs with Suresh Raina. He then added 55 runs with Yuvraj Singh. On the whole, these two partnership gave much impetus to the Indian innings.
Earlier, KL Rahul-Raina gave a solid foundation to the score with an opening 61-run start. Rest, they say is history. India finished with a score of 202. It was Dhoni’s knock that was the pivotal part of the Indian innings.
Right from the opening game in Kanpur, Dhoni has been itching to score big and has been middling the ball quite magnificently. But he had to wait till the Bangalore T20 game after scoring a memorable century in the ODI series.
