MS Dhoni, alongwith his men, is in the United States to explore a completely new territory. This is the first time the Indian team is in the states to play an international bilateral series.

It is a litmus test for cricket’s future in the United States. This is the place that the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) wanted to explore, and they are there, finally, to test it. It will be interesting to see how the series goes from a commercial point of view for the BCCI.

“From all reports, CPL had a fantastic ovation and it was well-received. And I hope this is the start of big things.”

“We are next-door neighbours and the US is a powerhouse so let’s see how it goes,” Carlos Brathwaite said. “We are testing the waters a bit, hopefully it goes well and hopefully this is the first of many in the USA.”

The two-match T20 series will take place at Florida’s Central Broward Regional Park. India and West Indies will be playing two back-to-matches on August 27 and August 28.

Florida’s Central Broward Regional Park is nothing like a stadium in India and West Indies. This multipurpose sports facility can barely accommodate 15,000 people, which is uncommon to the Indian team.

These two matches are very crucial for the West Indies. The World Champions are stepping into a new era with a new T20 captain. Brathwaite will lead the maroon-brigade in the T20s.

The star allrounder has replaced Darren Sammy as West Indies’ T20 captain. It will be a massive challenge for him to lead superstars like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and others.
