Be it ICC Champions Trophy, World Cup or World T20, Team India has won every major tournament under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The Indian team has climbed to number one position in both ODIs and Tests, with MS Dhoni been the guiding light.
Former Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist has termed Dhoni as a wonderful leader, who has had a huge impact in Team India’s success, in his recently released book – ‘Adam Gilchrist, The Man, The Cricketer, The Legend’.
“Dhoni is a wonderful leader of Indian cricket, has had a huge impact,” said Gilchrist. “There has been calmness about him and the way they go about their business.”
Despite not having Dhoni in the side against Sri Lanka, the men in blue outclassed the Islanders in the five-match series. Gilchrist, however, insisted that the World Cup-winning captain is still the mainstay of the Indian team.
“People have thrown questions up but they have done it in all forms under him,” said Gilchrist. “Any time he is not around they feel it.”
