MS Dhoni has seen everything with the Indian Cricket Team. From highs of winning the World Cup, to lows of losing against Bangladesh. He had it all in his about 13 year long international career.
In Indian team’s bonding session yesterday, Dhoni, in his trademark Captain Cool style, said that it is important to stick together as a group and enjoy the tough times.
“It is important to enjoy the period, which is tough,” Dhoni said. “But till (the time), you stick together and enjoy as a group, I don’t think there is anything that will stop you.”
“Make sure you have a lot of fun,” he added. “The forty-five minutes that we spent here means we can have fun anywhere in the world. We just need the company of us.”
Dhoni was in Bangalore to meet newly-appointed coach Anil Kumble. The Indian coach had called all stakeholders of the Indian cricket. Test skipper Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid and the selectors were also present at the meeting.
Post meeting, the whole Indian team, including Dhoni and Kohli, participated in the bonding session. The session was organised to create a strong bond between players and support staff.
“This is more of a life lesson than a cricket lesson,” Kohli said. “A lot of us will remember this day for what we did. Not many of us know how to dance and play the drums, but we tried and ended up having a lot of fun.”
