Anil Kumble is all set for his first stint with the Indian team. Team India will be playing four Test matches in the Caribbean. The first match of the series will be played in Antigua on July 21.
On the sideline of the training camp, Kumble said that beating West Indies is not going to be easy. The Indian coach added that the team will try to bring consistency in its performance.
“Expectations to win is constantly going to be there on the Indian team,” Kumble insisted. “West Indies are a tough side, but the conditions are quite similar to home.”
Another immediate challenge for Kumble will be to control Virat Kohli’s aggression. “I love Virat’s aggression. I was no different,” Kumble said. “I am the last person to curb anyone’s natural instinct.”
The Indian team is all set for a grueling Test season. Kohli’s men will be playing as many as 13 Test at home only. Coach Kumble said that the team is ready for the upcoming challenges.
“As a coach, all you want is the team to win,” the Indian coach said. “We will be playing a lot of Test cricket. We will be able to analyse the short comings, if any.”
