MS Dhoni Only Cricketer Among 20 Most Famous Athletes in World

According to a list released by Business Insider, India’s limited-overs captain MS Dhoni is among the 20 most famous athletes in the world.

The captain of the Indian Cricket Team is currently 13th on the list, with a salary of $4 million, along with endorsements of $27.0 million.

Dhoni also has a large fan base on social media. He has more than 18 million fans on Facebook, while 5.3 million followers on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The list is topped by Portugal and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has a salary of $52.2 million, and endorsements of $27 million.

NBA superstar LeBron James is second on the list, followed by Barcelona star Lionel Messi, Brazilian striker Neymar Junior and Roger Federer.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods is the top golfer in the list at seventh spot, while his countryman Phil Mickelson is 12th, and Rory McIlroy is 19th.

Despite recent doping scandal, tennis queen Maria Sharapova is still one of  the most famous athletes, and the only woman in the list.

The Russian gets $6.7 million through salary, and $23 million endorsements. She has 2.2 million Twitter followers, while 15.5 million fans on Facebook.
