The longest version of the game will step into the new era, with the first day-night Test that will take place between Australia and New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval.

With the day-night Test is likely to make a significant impact on the viewership, there are concerns about the visibility of the pink Test ball that will be used in the game.

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, meanwhile, is convinced with the visibility of the pink Test ball under lights while batting. He, however, has different opinion when it comes down to fielding.

“It’s good enough for me,” Martin Guptill said. “It’s probably worse when you’re fielding. The fact I ran away from one in Canberra under lights (is a sign that) it can be quite difficult.”

“But it can be difficult with a red ball as well,” he added. “We’ve just got to get on with it. You’ve got to try and pick it up as well as you can and try and stop the ball.”

Martin Guptill spent a considerable amount of time in the middle against Western Australia in the practice match, and scored a century before being retired hurt.
