Middle-order batsman Manish Pandey has been added to the Indian Cricket Team for the remaining matches of World T20 2016, as a cover for Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj hurt his ankle in the match against Australia, and he might be ruled out of the tournament, if his injury doesn’t show signs of improvement.

Pandey stamped his mark as a solid batsman in the Australia series, scoring a hundred down under. He is also the first Indian to score a century in the Indian Premier League.

After beating Australia, India captain MS Dhoni also hinted that he might be forced to make changes in the playing XI against West Indies in the semifinals.

“I don’t know whether we should make changes but it is possible, depending on the wicket. We have to see Yuvraj’s injury as well,” Dhoni said.

“We would definitely like to have a replacement ready if the physio says his injury is bad,” the Indian captain, in the post-Australia match said.

India are set to face West Indies on March 31 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in the second semifinal of the tournament.
