A 10-over match is always a lottery, just a couple of overs can make or break a game, but still you need someone to play with intent and drove team home.

And, the Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to find it in form of Mandeep Singh, who played a blistering innings to take the hosts over the line in the rain-hit encounter.

Mandeep made an unbeaten 18-ball 45, featuring three sixes, as the Royal Challengers defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets, with two balls to spare.

Earlier, the rain came down heavily just after the toss and the match was delayed significantly, but the groundsmen did a really great job in ensuring that the fans didn’t leave disappointed.

The game was cut short into a 10-over affair and the Knight Riders, batting first, posted a steep 112-run target for the hosts. Andre Russell played a scorching knock, while Yusuf Pathan finished off in style.

Chasing 112, Bangalore made a flying start with Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. It looked like that the RCB’s opening pair would end the game early, but the Knight Riders struck back.

They dismissed Gayle, AB de Villiers and later well-set Kohli, but Mandeep played a blinder to take the Royal Challengers home quite easily.
