The Delhi Daredevils registered a convincing win over the Mumbai Indians by 37 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, snapping their nine-match losing streak at home.

Delhi looked in control right from the start and managed to post 190 runs, batting first. In reply, Mumbai kept losing wickets on regular intervals and ended their innings on 159/9 in 20 overs.

Batting first, the Daredevils lost opener Mayank Agarwal cheaply, but Shreyas Iyer and JP Duminy created a record 154-run partnership for the second wicket. Both Iyer and Duminy, meanwhile, completed their fifties and put the Daredevils on course of a massive total.

The Mumbai Indians, however, pulled back things by dismissing Angelo Mathews and Yuvraj Singh cheaply, but Duminy ensured that Delhi post more than a competitive total on the board to create enough scoreboard pressure.

While chasing, the Mumbai Indians made a solid start with Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel. But, Delhi came back strongly by dismissing both Mumbai openers inside two overs. The hosts set high fielding standards to convert some sharp chances.

Losing wickets didn’t help Mumbai cause, and the increasing run-rate got the better of Unmukt Chand and Kieron Pollard, who also fell cheaply, while trying to up the ante.

The Daredevils maintained tight line and length, but Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu counterattacked and hit some cleaners. But at the end, the asking rate proved a bit too much for them and Imran Tahir ripped apart their lower-middle order.
