Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have acquired the services of left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, starting April 8 next year, in the first Trading Window for the season.

Abdulla, who played for Rajasthan Royals in the last edition of the IPL, represented the Shilpa Shetty co-owned franchise in only game. He, however, made his name with Kolkata Knight Riders by taking 28 wickets in 34 matches.

“In what is the fifth trade prior to the 2015 season of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore have acquired Iqbal Abdulla from Rajasthan Royals,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Abdulla is the third player drafted by RCB in the IPL auction list, after the signing of Parthiv Patel from Mumbai Indians and Manvinder Bisla from Kolkata Knight Riders. Earlier, Unmukt Chand and Vinay Kumar were acquired by Mumbai Indians from KKR.
