The Indian Cricket Team has wrapped the Test series up with a win in St Lucia. They are now targeting top-spot in the ICC Test rankings. A win in Trinidad will strengthen their bid to challenge Australia for the top-position.

“This team has decided to play in a certain way. I know it is not going to be easy to do that,” Rohit Sharma said. “Our immediate goal is to be the No.1 Test side in the world and we’re not too far away from that.”

The Indian team is currently second with 112 rating points, six points behind Australia in the ICC Test Rankings.

This is third Test series in a row that the Indian team has won in the Caribbean Islands. In this series, they won the opening contest in Antigua. The Windies managed to draw the 2nd Test. India won the 3rd Test in Gros Islet.

“We are on our way to becoming number one, it is not easy and we are working hard,” Rohit stressed. “We’ve had a good result in the Caribbean and have won all our last three Tests series.”

“We are moving in the right direction and everything looks settled now,” he added. “All we need to do is keep getting better as cricketers and as a team.”

The last match of the four-match Test series at the Queen’s Park Oval will start August 18.
