The Indian team is warming up pretty well in the practice matches. Both batsmen and bowlers are getting into the groove for the upcoming four-match Test series, starting July 21 in Antigua.
Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja said that the team is targeting nothing short of a series win over the West Indies. He added that now the success of any team is calculated on the basis of their overseas performance.
“Now both in Test and one-day cricket the performance is measured on the basis of your show overseas,” Jadeja said. “Our focus will be to win the series. Whenever we do well, people say we always win in India.”
“This is an away series and we want to change that thinking,” he added. “This is an away series and we want to win. The fitness level of this team is high and everyone has prepared well.”
Jadeja has been India’s leading spinner, alongwith Ravichandran Ashwin, in the five-day format, lately. In the practice match too, he picked three wickets to rip through West Indies Board President’s XI middle-order. The Indian Test captain Virat Kohli will be banking upon Jadeja in the upcoming series.
