India vs West Indies 4th Test Result: Match Ends in Unsavory Draw

The outfield of the Queen’s Park Oval had taken quite a beating leading up to the 4th Test. There was no super sopper available, and the groundsmen have also left plenty of areas exposed when it rained.

Eventually, just like previous three days, the fourth day of the match also washed out without a ball being bowled. Only 22 overs were possible in the match, making it the third-shortest non-abandoned Test ever.

The draw, however, didn’t stop the Indian team from clinching the four-match series 2-0.

“The amount of cricket we played, I think it’s a pretty fair representation,” Virat Kohli said. “In Jamaica, we lost a day of cricket. We don’t want to keep thinking about ‘what if’. We have to deal with what’s in front of us.”

“This game again, we didn’t have any play, so we couldn’t control the result,” he added. “The other two games we won convincingly, and that pleased the whole squad.”

The Indian team, meanwhile, lost its top-position in the ICC Test Rankings to Pakistan. India needed to win the match to retain the number 1 position, but a draw promoted Pakistan over Kohli’s men in Tests.
