India vs South Africa: Ravichandran Ashwin Injured, Harbhajan Singh To Join Team

The Indian Cricket Board has included off-spinner Harbhajan Singh in the squad for the next two one-dayers against South Africa, after Ravichandran Ashwin sustained an injury during the 1st ODI.

While fielding on his own bowling, Ravichandran Ashwin sustained a left side strain, and also failed to complete his bowling quota, leaving the field mid-way into the game.

Harbhajan Singh, who was part of the T20 squad against South Africa, has been recalled into the team as a back-up for Ravichandran Ashwin.

BCCI in a statement Informed:

Ravichandran Ashwin has sustained a left side strain injury during the 1st ODI against South Africa at Green Park, Kanpur.

After making a detailed assessment of the injury, the BCCI medical team will confirm the time frame required for Ashwin to fully recovery from the injury.

Harbhajan Singh has been included in the Indian squad, and will join the team before the 2nd ODI of the series in Indore.
