India should have a psychological advantage over the visiting South African team in the opening game of the T20 series in Dharamshala on Friday. That is because the visitors had to deal with a body blow when they lost the practice match to India ‘A’ by eight wickets at the Palam cricket ground on Tuesday.
So, on Friday when they take on the big boys, there will be additional pressure on South Africa to start the series on a positive note. Interestingly, the Indian camp didn’t read too much into South Africa’s defeat.
The team still rates the upcoming T20 series to be a big challenge. That too, playing on a Dharamshala pitch, which is known to produce decent pace and bounce. And against a team like South Africa will always be the ultimate test.
