Dhoni decided not to make any changes in the XI that played the last match. The conditions will suit the Indians once again as Kotla’s pitch will assist the slow bowlers, while dew may also play a factor later in the game.
“No variable bounce, we’ll be happy. If there is dew, it will be easier,” Dhoni said. “Very dangerous side, important to respect the opposition and start from scratch. Last game, it was coming onto the bat better.”

The Blackcaps made three changes in their playing XI from the last game. Their speedsters Trent Boult and Matt Henry, alongwith Antone Devcich, made the cut after missing the series opener.
Meanwhile, pacer Doug Bracewell, allrounder Jimmy Neesham and spinner Ish Sodhi failed to make the cut.
