Mushfiqur Rahim again showed why he is one of the best batsmen in Bangladesh at the moment. The Bangladesh captain scored a fifty against India in Hyderabad to lead his side’s resistance in the one-off Test.
Shakib Al Hasan, meanwhile, anchored the other end and scored a fighting fifty. He and Rahim added 107 runs for the fifth wicket. Ravichandran Ashwin broke their stand by dismissing Shakib (82) late in the second session.

Earlier, the morning session completely belonged to the Indians. They dominated the proceedings and ripped through Bangladesh’s top-order, courtesy pacers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav.
Opener Tamim Iqbal was the first to depart. A mix-up in the middle with Mominul Haque cost Tamim (24) his wicket. Soon, Bangladesh lost Mominul (12) as well, when Yadav trapped him right in front.
Bangladesh tried to recover with Shakib and Mahmudullah (28), but Ishant got the latter trapped lbw.
