Keeping the recent run of form in mind, India are heading as favorites in the Asia Cup opener against Bangladesh, but by no means it is going to be a walk in the park for the visitors.
Bangladesh are a formidable side at home, and shorter the former, more dangerous they are. Not too long ago, they blanked India in the ODI series, and the Indians can’t afford to take them lightly.

“The team has been playing well over the past few months, and we are carrying with us a good momentum into the Asia Cup,” Virat Kohli said. “Eventually focusing on every game is important.”
“We can’t think that we have to win the Asia cup right from the beginning; that is thinking too far,” he added. “The process has to be gradual and we will get the results and they are there to be seen.”
Although India is looking like a balanced team, they still have plenty to worry ahead of the opening game, as there are clouds of uncertainty over the fitness of skipper MS Dhoni.
India will have to do a massive tampering work with the batting order to add Parthiv Patel into the playing XI, if Dhoni fails to gain full fitness ahead of the game against Bangladesh.
The top-order and the bowling unit is more or less sorted for the Indian team. The middle-order, however, is a cause of concern owing to MSD’s fitness.
