Both India and South Africa continued to remain frustrated at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, as the umpires were forced to call the play off for the day without a ball being bowled.

Second day in a row umpires were forced to abandon the play in Bangalore, as the persistent drizzles that started on Day 2 continued on the third day as well.

The play is slated for 15-minute early start on Tuesday morning, with weather permitting, but the forecast is not looking encouraging on Day 4, as incessant rain is expected throughout the day.

Earlier, the play was suspended till lunch on Day 3, but as rain continued to come down, creating water puddles along the boundary line, the game was called off.

Meanwhile, the last bit of action happened on the opening day of the 2nd Test, with India nicely positioned in the game, having bundled South Africa for a paltry total.

South Africa could only manage to score 214 in the first innings, as Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin shared four wickets each between them.

In reply to South Africa’s total, India made a solid start with Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay, as the Indian openers put together an unbeaten 80-run stand.
