ICC tightens the screws on sledging

David Warner

The message is loud and clear from the International Cricket Council (ICC). Sledging will just not be tolerated. According to sources, some players like India’s Virat Kohli, and Australia’s David Warner, could find themselves out in the cold if they don’t fit in to the code of conduct specified in the players’ rules and regulations.

Sources said that there are other names discussed within the ICC, but both Kohli and Warner would have to be extra careful after what has happened in the last two months. During the India-Australia tour, both the players were at loggerheads on different occasions.

“ICC is very strict this time and they won’t tolerate anything which is going to bring disrepute to the game,” the source added.
