The Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni is the most successful captain in the history of the Indian Premier League. The major reason for his success is the way he marshals his troops on the field, be it youngsters or senior players.
Dhoni pointed out that the blend of youngsters and senior players have made the Super Kings the most consistent team in the competition.
“The reason for CSK’s consistency has been the gelling of young and senior cricket players with the help of support staff,” Dhoni said.
The Captain Cool, however, insisted that having too many quality players sometimes create problems for him. He said it is difficult to ask someone like Brendon McCullum to sit, to draft youngsters into the squad.
“We had Jadeja coming in as a youngster. We also had Ishwar Pandey, Mohit Sharma, who is playing for India,” Dhoni pointed out. “We also had Pawan Negi. We have young pool of players but we cannot make senior players like Brendon McCullum to sit outside – it is always a difficult choice.”
