There could be some good news in store for the India-West Indies cricket fans in days to come. The BCCI, which slapped a $42 million compensation claim on the West Indies cricket board (WICB) for pulling out of the Indian tour, is ready to sort out the dispute for once and for all.

According to the BCCI sources, the bigwigs of the board have sought to discuss the issue at length during the upcoming meetings.

There are also indications that the BCCI may drop the $42 million compensation claim and, in return, could ask the West Indies board to play a series in India.

“The modalities will be worked out after the BCCI working committee has arrived at a decision. If the board is asked by the members to let go the compensation amount, BCCI will not hesitate to do so. It is completely upto the members to decide on the money matter,” a BCCI insider told Drcricket7 on Tuesday.

Last year, a clash between the two boards erupted after the Dwayne Bravo-led West Indies team Indies ODI team pulled out of the five-match series after the fourth ODI in Dharamshala (October 17, 2014) over player’s pay dispute. The team was also scheduled to play a T20 game along with three Test matches.

Their sudden pull-out then not only irked the BCCI but also provoked the richest cricket board in the world to slap a million dollar compensation claim. After that, the Indian board also snapped all bilateral ties with the West Indies cricket.
