Australia not taking India for granted

You can’t take India lightly. That is the message the Australian camp is giving two days before the much-talked about semifinal clash against India in the 2015 World Cup. According to Australian opener Aaron Finch, India are a formidable side and have grown in confidence in this competition.

“We played some really good cricket against India earlier in the summer,” Finch said. “Now they have played beautifully throughout this World Cup. Undefeated so far, the team has grown in confidence. But when you look down our team, we match up quite well.”

There will be probably more Indian fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday than the Aussies, but this kind of stage is new to most of the Australian cricket and Finch is different. “It’s going to be huge. It’s obviously going to be my biggest game.

I can’t put it any other. It’s a huge opportunity to be able to show off our skills as a team. I think we’ve played some great cricket over the last two years.

When asked about the nature of the SCH track, he went on to say: “I have not had too much of a look at it,” he said. “The last time we played here it looked like the wicket would spin quite a bit but it did not. It played really true. It’s hard to tell since there are still two days out from the game. The wicket can change quite a bit over here in two days,” he said.

The Indian team management are keeping a close look at the SCG pitch for last couple of days. Whether it will suit the spinners or the pacers, the Indians are not expected to make any change in their line-up. The message is oud and clear from the Indian camp — we are ready!
