MS Dhoni might have stepped down from captaincy but his presence is still helpful for the Indian team. Before leaving for England to defend the Champions Trophy, Kohli had mentioned the importance of having Dhoni.
He called both Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh the pillars of the team. It seems that they have lived up to the expectations. Dhoni’s brilliance is not just limited to catching and stumping, but he also has some great suggestions.

Kohli has been discussing tactics with Dhoni on the field. He admitted that the former Indian Captain had the most priceless inputs for the Indian team. “His inputs are always precise and very helpful at any stage of the game.”
“As I said in the last game we discussed about the part-timers and mentioned about it. And I thought why not. Let’s give bowlers a break. They probably might be feeling the pressure and the part-timers have nothing to lose.”
“So that actually slowed the game down,” he concluded. “Yes, you’re making decisions, but the inputs from such experienced players are priceless at any stage of the day.”
