After whitewashing Zimbabwe and Pakistan at home, Bangladesh now have a tough assignment of facing India in a three-match ODI series, starting June 18 in Mirpur.

Bangladesh managed to avoid defeat, despite following-on in Fatullah, as rain dashed India’s chances of a dramatic win in the one-off Test.

But, as history suggests, Bangladesh are more suited for the 50-over version of the game and they would definitely test Team India in the three-match series.

The rain is expected to play spoilsport and with the games might be shortened, it would give Bangladesh more opportunities of causing an upset in the series.

Suresh Raina, who has joined Team India for the ODI series, said seeing their recent record Team India is considering Bangladesh a strong opponent.

“Yes definitely. You saw that after the IPL, the full Test team came and now the full ODI team has come,” Raina said. “Bangladesh have done well in ODIs recently, and this shows how important a series this is for us.”

“If you ask me about our team, we have done really well in one-days over the years. We are looking to enjoy each and every game. We’re here to play cricket, and we’ll be focusing on our strengths.

“The team has been working really hard. We have one more practice session tomorrow and hopefully all set for the game tomorrow,” Raina said.
