The pink ball cricket is already gaining a plenty of acceptability among the Indian cricketers at the domestic level. This could be because of its bright nature compared to the red cherry.

After Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy, the top performers too gave thumbs up to pink ball by saying that the day night Test cricket is the way forward and pick ball is here to stay for sure.

“I didn’t need to shine at all. We just rubbed the ball once and passed it on to the bowlers in action. The shine bit was never a problem,” India’s ace left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha said.

The Duleep Trophy is currently been played in Greater Noida.

When asked if India would be ready to host a day night Test anytime soon? Pragyan said, “It’s completely up to BCCI take this call. But it’s certainly something which is the way forward.”

Pragyan’s opponent teammate in the Duleep Trophy from India Red Yuvraj Singh also said that innovations make the game interesting. After, all change is the only constant.

“This pink ball experience is new to us and it’s a big earning phase. But we enjoying playing with pink ball. I didn’t have any problems gripping the ball. There was a slow turn for the spinners as well.” Ojha said.
