MS Dhoni is all set for his first assignment with the Indian team, after the appointment of Anil Kumble as the head coach. The Indian team will face the West Indies in a two-match T20 series in the United States.
The India limited-overs captain shares a great rapport with Kumble, and is looking forward to work with him. “Well Anil Bhai, I have played with him,” Dhoni said. “I have played under him and he’s a very special man.”
Dhoni had played under Kumble, when the latter was the Indian Test captain. It was Kumble who taught Dhoni the art if leadership in the five-day format towards the end of his career.
“He’s one of the few players, irrespective of the conditions whether it’s (assisting) spin bowling or not, whether we’re playing abroad or not he was somebody who was very aggressive when it comes to his bowling.”
“He was somebody who put in a lot of hard-work. He would prepare very well over a period. And, you know he’s just fantastic,” the Indian captain stressed.
The two-match series will take place in Florida on August 27 and 28 at Central Broward Regional Park.
