The home side can now breathe easy and will aim to post as many runs on the board, and whatever runs Root and Anderson are able to score from here on, will be a bonus for them. Young Root was impressive all throughout his innings and his gritty century in this situation will definitely go down in the history as one of the best match-saving knocks from an English batsmen. On the other end, James Anderson showed great maturity in his batting and even he would look for his century now.
Team India has to reassess their plans in the next session for both these batsmen otherwise it may well get a bit late for them.
