The IPL Governing Council has announced Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium as a new knockout venue, while Bengaluru will host the final.
Earlier, Pune was slated to host the eliminator and second qualifier, but as no IPL match can take place in Maharashtra after May 1, Delhi has been awarded the playoff matches.
The IPL final was scheduled to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, but it will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which will also host the first qualifier on May 24.
The revised IPL Playoffs Schedule for Playoffs are as under:
Match | Date | Day | Venue |
Qualifier 1 | 24-May | Tuesday | Bengaluru |
Eliminator | 25-May | Wednesday | Delhi |
Qualifier 2 | 27-May | Friday | Delhi |
Final | 29-May | Sunday | Bengaluru |
The IPL has been made to make changes in its schedule and venues, after the Bombay High Court’s ruling of taking the matches out of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra is currently facing water shortage owing to which a PIL had been filed to move the games away from three venues, Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.
Both Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants are now slated to play their home matches at neutral-home venue in Vizag from May 1 onward.
