Faf du Plessis confident heading into the World T20 2016

After a disappointing series loss against Australia at home in the T20 series, South Africa have arrived in India to participate in the World T20 2016.

Playing in India will be a challenge for the Proteas, but not as big as it used to be a few years ago. This is because a number of South Africa players play here.

Faf du Plessis, AB de Villers, David Miller and others are regulars in the Indian Premier League, giving South Africa a good advantage in this year’s tournament.

Plus, last year South Africa played a full-length series against India, and managed to beat the Indians in the T20 and ODI series.

South Africa captain du Plessis, who led Proteas to T20 series win over India, is confidently heading into the tournament.

“For us, the conditions here are no longer foreign,” du Plessis said. “We played some really good cricket in the subcontinent in the last couple of series.”

“Although we are a little disappointed with our loss against Australia, we are very confident coming into the World Cup. We know that if we play our best cricket, we will be near about there, taking it right down to the end.”
