Team India continued its dominance in the first of the two-day practice game at Gliderol Stadium to finish on top by the end of second day’s play as the match ended in a draw.

Indian batsmen, despite overcast conditions in Adelaide, made 363 for the loss of eight wickets and build a 144-run lead, before the conclusion of play on the second day.

Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Wriddhiman Saha and Karn Sharma made fifties for the visitors, while Suresh Raina also put some playing time under his belt.

Vijay (51) and Pujara (55) started the day for India and made an 85-run partnership for the second wicket. The former retired soon after completing his fifty, while Pujara also left three overs later. India, meanwhile, lost Ajinkya Rahane (1) cheaply, when he was dismissed by Sam Grimwade.

Rohit Sharma and Kohli combined together and played some delightful shots, but the former fell after making 46-ball 23. Kohli, meanwhile, continued his good run with the bat and completed his fifty.

Suresh Raina also played well for his 75-ball 56, while Karn (52 not out) and Saha (56 not out) also made most of the batting opportunity and played to the end of play.

Earlier, on the first day, Indian pacers put the home team on back-foot by bundling them for a mere 219. Varun Aaron was the wrecker-in-chief with three wickets, while Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets each.

Leg-spinner Karn also had a good game as apart from making a half-century in the second day, he chipped in with a couple of wickets and played crucial role in restricting the hosts.
