Allrounder Carlos Brathwaite is the new West Indies captain in the T20s. Leading a team of superstars is not easy, but Brathwaite is looking forward to lead the Windies team in the shortest format of the game.

Brathwaite replaced Darren Sammy as the Windies team captain. The two-match T20 series against India is his first assignment as incharge of the T20 unit. And, the new captain doesn’t think it would be tough for him.

“I think a team like this will be pretty easy to lead, from the point of view that the dressing room is a fun place to be,” Brathwaite said. “I don’t think it’s a case where I have to negotiate too many egos.”

“The guys enjoy each other’s company,” he stressed. “It’s just a matter for me to go there, do the things that I can do. Firstly as a player and then a captain, continue to mould the team that Darren has started to mould, efficiently.”

The two-match T20 series between India and West Indies will take place in Florida’s Central Broward Regional Park on August 27 and 28.
