Confidence after winning back-to-back matches and getting sufficient breaks between the World Cup encounters, are a couple things which is helping India. The next match is against the UAE and that will be followed by another big game against the West Indies.
But the last two matches of the league phase in Pool B, India will be playing against Ireland and Zimbabwe. Considering that they don’t as much threat as Pakistan and South Africa do, those encounters may not serve as “the perfect game” just before the quarterfinals.
The good news is that the Indian team management isn’t losing sleep over it. For MS Dhoni & his men, every World Cup match is big. It doesn’t matter who is the opponent. The main challenge is to keep winning all the matches and keeping the confidence level intact.
Another team source pointed out that the Indians are not looking that far. As reported earlier, team is taking one match at a time. “Right now the team is enjoying the break for a while before hitting the nets once again,” a team insider said.
