World Cup 2015: Spinners dominate at WACA as India complete clinical win over UAE

It was as easy as it could get for India against the UAE, and the defending champions completed an easy nine-wicket win at the WACA, Perth. UAE, the team that impressed in previous matches, provided to be a no match for the defending champions.

The MS Dhoni-led side came out with all guns blazing and the new-ball bowlers – Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar – made the impression straight away by getting early wicket. Bhuvneshwar particularly looked impressive and bowled with rhythm.

When everyone expected seamers to exploit the helpful conditions at the WACA, spinners chipped-in for Team India. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin finished with four wickets, while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja finished with a couple.

Umesh Yadav finished with two wickets, while Bhuvneshwar and Mohit Sharma took one apiece, as the Emirates could only managed to score a mere 102 to win that was never going to be enough to contain the world champions.

Chasing a paltry total, India were off to a cautious start with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, as they knew there are more than enough overs to chase the total. Rohit played through the innings and scored a fine half-century.

Dhawan, meanwhile, was dismissed while cutting a wide delivery, but Rohit was not in a mood to let the chance slip away from him. He batted sensibly and spent time in the middle that could prove crucial in the forthcoming match against the West Indies.
