“They played good games earlier,” pacer Mohit Sharma said. “Ireland have a chance to qualify. They have a good team. We will have to play well to beat them, and we’ll try to do it.”

Ireland is having a good World Cup and they are in fray to qualify for the knockout stage, but the India game is going to be a tough task for them. Despite upsetting West Indies in their opening match, they proved to be a no match for South Africa.

“Been a pretty good mood in the camp throughout and obviously winning helps,” William Porterfield said. “Being three from four is a nice position to be in. Like any other game we’ll be looking for a win and to make it four from five tomorrow.”

No doubt Ireland are a fantastic chasing side, they have chased big totals more than any other team in the World Cups. But, against an in-form Indian attack it would be a litmus test for the Irish.

In the last game against the Windies, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami ripped through the batting line-up. They were simply outstanding in terms of pace and accuracy, and later on spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja also played well.

“Shami and Umesh are bowling well with the new ball and putting on a lot of pressure,” Mohit said. “My job is to maintain that pressure. I keep that pressure on so that spinners (Ravichandran) Ashwin and (Ravindra) Jadeja can take them on.”

India’s batting looked out of sorts in the last game, but now they will have a good chance of putting some valuable game time under their belt. The bowling attack of Ireland is quite modest and it would be difficult for them to contain Indian batsmen.
