Watch Glenn Maxwell weirdest dismissal in Big Bash League

Glenn Maxwell is known for his unorthodox batting style and the stroke-maker was dismissed in one of the weirdest fashions against Brisbane Heat in Australia’s Big Bash League, while playing for the Melbourne Stars on Sunday night at the Gabba.

Maxwell, who came out to bat in the first over, charged down the wicket only to leave Cameron Duffield delivery, which pitched within the line of the stumps. The ball swung back in to disturb the timber as the flamboyant batsmen scored a bizarre duck.

Duffield and the spectators present at the Brisbane Cricket Stadium went berserk, while commentators, including Damien Fleming and Adam Gilchrist were left stunned.

“I’m speechless. I really don’t know what to say,” Gilchrist said during commentary. “That is the most extraordinary dismissal I’ve ever seen in the game.”

Maxwell, meanwhile, was quick to apologise for the mistake and posted a message on Twitter: “Sorry stars fans, not good enough, dumb and sh*t is the only way to describe tonight’s events.”
