Team India

Veterans like Ashish Nehra and Yuvraj Singh entering the Indian T20 team, replete with less experienced youngsters, has been something of a magic formula.

These two cricketers were out of the national squad for a long time. Their comeback isn’t just a boon to them but the rest of the team as well.

As always, Nehra’s performance has been quite consistent for the team, and his experience has also made the difference.

His skills as the best death-bowler India has produced in last decade was evident during the T20 series-win against Australia. He is someone who is never intimidated by the opponent.

The best part of the story is that the Delhi left-armer still generates good pace and variation to keep up to international standards.

Similarly, Yuvraj’s experience bestows him with a sort of deadly confidence that makes him lethal when he decides to put his mind to it.

On Sunday the critics were quick to draw attention to the Punjab southpaw’s struggles to put bat to ball two years ago, during the World T20 final, against Sri Lanka.

His performance during the last over of the match erased erased those bad memories, and how! Yuvraj struck one four and a six for India’s requisite 17 runs off the last six balls.

Later, Suresh Raina finished things off in style to hand over a 3-0 verdict to the Aussies. It was truly a wonderful match for India.

Captain Dhoni also needs to be complemented for ensuring the return of these two veterans and using their services appropriately.
