Tri-series News: MS Dhoni’s inclusion will strengthen Team India, says Sourav Ganguly

MS Dhoni

Team India missed the services of talisman Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the fourth Test against Australia owing to his sudden departure from Test cricket, but the India limited-overs skipper is back for the ODI tri-series, starting January 16.

India will play its first match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on January 18 and it would be a challenge for the touring party to change gears, after a long four-match Test series, which they lost 2-0.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, meanwhile, feels that the addition of MS Dhoni in the squad would come handy for the men in blue and strengthen the squad for the forthcoming tri-series and in the World Cup defence.

“It has been a long tour already,” Ganguly pointed out. “The players need to keep themselves fresh. The selectors have done a good job with the World Cup squad and it is quite balanced.”

“Not to mention, Dhoni will be back and he is a terrific one-day player,” the former skipper added. “I am sure he will prove to be a huge force in the coming months.”
