Team India would be playing as many as 12 Test matches next season against top teams like Australia and England at home.

According to the BCCI sources, the board is yet to formalise the name of the countries which are likely to tour India next year, but a source confirmed that at least two reputed international sides are in the fray.

“It’s true that India will be hosting around 12 Test matches at home next year. The board is yet to decide on the names of the touring nations,” a source told Drcricket7 on Wednesday.

In 2015, India have already played a one-off Test series against Bangladesh, which was followed by another three Test matches against Sri Lanka in the Emerald of Isle.

From Thursday onward, India would be starting to play another round of Test battle against South Africa in a four-match Test series in front of the home crowd.

Sources also insisted that India could have played more Tests this season if there wasn’t a World T20 championship, which is scheduled to be played from early next year.
