We have already seen Tim Southee’s breathtaking fielding display in the Champions League T20 qualifiers and now Brendon McCullum has gone a step further by showing a stunning display against the Dolphins in Bangalore.
The kiwis are setting new benchmarks on the field and a spectacular display from McCullum is arguably the best effort till date in the league. McCullum, however, couldn’t pull off a screamer but certainly saved four runs for his side.
McCullum, who is one of best fielders in the Super Kings side, in the third ball of the 16th over took a perfect backward leap on the boundary line to pull the ball back into the field.
“Unbelievable, what he did saved four runs, words can’t explain his efforts,” CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo said. “It’s good to know as a bowler that you have McCullum, Smith and Jadeja in the field.”
Even South African speedster Dale Steyn tweeted about McCullum’s fielding effort and said it should be out. “That catch should be out! #baseballcricket #epic,” Steyn tweeted.
