Sourav Ganguly has agreed to the fact that the differences between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli not handled properly. He is a part of the CAC committee which is responsible for identifying India’s new coach.

CAC was also responsible for breaking the impasse between Kohli and Kumble. But, after discussions with Kohli, they reported to board that relationship was beyond repair.

“The matter between Kumble and Kohli should have been handled a lot better,” Ganguly said.

During the state association’s meeting, Ganguly disagreed that the CAC undermined Kumble-Kohli episode. He even said that the committee was looking for the one who can win matches.

The committee is looking into applications of five candidates that have already submitted their resume. Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput and Richard Pybus have applied for the post.

Ravi Shastri will also apply for the post. Last year during the interview process to appoint head coach, Ganguly and Shastri had a spat. It ultimately led to the appointment of Kumble as the head coach.
