All this while, the Mumbai Indians were losing matches in their mind. They were playing as if there wasn’t much mental strength left to back their talent. But finally, they understood that the price of success is hard work, dedication to the job in hand and the determination that whether they win or lose, they will have to give their best to the task at hand. Still, doing something late is better than not doing it at all.

With score of 157 for eight, most of the cricket pundits thought that the Mumbai Indians would lose this match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede stadium on Saturday. But their Sri Lankan pacer, Lasith Malinga, who is supposed to be the best T20 bowler in the world, had other plans.

After getting the wicket of Sunrisers captain David Warner, Malinga was seen giving a traditional ‘goodbye’ gesture to the Australian opener and that changed the mood of the entire Mumbai camp.

There was a sense of urgency and the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan ensured that the elusive win wasn’t far off. Within a span of seven runs the Sunrisers lost their second wickets, the Mumbai bowlers pounced on the opportunity to embrace their second win from seven matches.

After losing the last match against the Delhi Daredevils, this same Mumbai team was in a sombre mood. Still, they wanted to remain upbeat. But there was immense self-belief in the team that they can turn it around and miracles do happen in this world of IPL.

The players had insisted on hard work and how it was important to have a few good days. Now that they have seven more matches to prove their worth, every game is important for this team. They will have to rewind those old tapes, which have recordings of their IPL performance two years ago.
