MS Dhoni’s batting form? Never a worry for Team India

Runs have been tough to come by for India skipper MS Dhoni, but Team India is not worried. Considered to be one of the best finishers in the history of the game either didn’t get enough deliveries for an extended run at the crease or else he got out hitting before he could settle down.

The kind of batsman Dhoni is at this level, his form will never be an issue within the team, according to top sources in the Indian cricket board (BCCI). “If he bats up the order, out of 10 times, he would score at least eight times for India and that is the kind of batsman Dhoni is,” a top BCCI official told Drcricket7.

Being a mainstay of the Indian middle-order batting, Dhoni prefers to finish games rather than promoting himself up the batting order. However, sources indicated that you can never predict what he could do with the batting order if need arises. And most important, he is in “good stead” to beat all odds.

In the Pakistan match when Shikhar Dhawan got out, he promoted Raina up the order ahead of Ajinkya Rahane and that move eventually became a master stroke in the match. Similarly, Dhoni had promoted himself in the 2011 World Cup final when India had lost three wickets ahead of inform Yuvraj Singh then and scored a match-winning knock for his country.

Just because Dhoni hasn’t got a proper opportunity to play a suitable knock for his team doesn’t mean that he is out of form. The most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket is middling the ball perfectly in the nets and hardly looks like a batsman whose confidence is dented due to lack of big scores.

“It’s a matter of opportunity. He is doing the best job behind the stumps and led the side superbly against Pakistan by marshaling his resources intelligently. There is no worry as far as Dhoni’s batting form is concerned,” the official added.
