MS Dhoni Press Conference

India limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni has backed the spinners for the upcoming Test series. Dhoni, while addressing the media in Delhi, said that spinners will play a huge role in the four Test matches.

“I think wickets will be slower in West Indies but you never know,” Dhoni said in a presser yesterday. “I think spinners will have a huge role to play.”

Dhoni was seen particularly impressed with India’s pace bowling attack. The Captain Cool said that the team now has a pool of quick bowlers, which allow the captain to field them according to the playing conditions.

“The more the competition better it is,” Dhoni insisted. “It’s good that finally we have a pool of 8-10 bowlers who are pushing for selection. If I look at a year back, during an ODI series against South Africa, there were a few bowlers who were injured.”

“And we have bowlers with all areas covered,” he added. “If you want pace we have that. If you want swing, we have that. Of course, we have to be careful about injury management.”

The first Test between India and West Indies is starting today in Antigua.
