MS Dhoni men ready for big battle against South Africa

Team India

Nothing can probably get through the defense of Indian captain MS Dhoni. On Saturday when he was seen honing his skills in the nets, he was middling the ball consistently. A few of his back-foot punches indicated how ready he is for the big game against South Africa on Sunday.

There was hardly any gap between his bat and the pad. This is indeed good news for India as Dhoni is the most important player of his team. The Indian team, which was seen practicing in the middle wicket, preferred to do their nets in the middle to be in a match situation.

In Melbourne, the track record of the Indian team is not great. Out of 18 matches that India played at the MCG, they lost 10 of them while South Africa have only lost two matches out of nine encounter.

But, that doesn’t seem to bother Dhoni, who is incidentally the most experienced captain the tournament. This is a special match for India as this could indicate who would top the Pool B table of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Indian vice-captain Virat Kohli said that India are ready for an excited battle. “Both sides are balanced, so it all depends on how you play on the day. They have good fast bowlers and we have the batsmen,” Kohli said.

He then pointed out that the key “to sustain the momentum for the whole innings” is important. “We need a calculated approach to batting,” Kohli added.
