Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’ has created a lot of buzz lately, with the official poster releasing just a few weeks ago. The man portraying MS Dhoni on screen, Sushant Singh Rajput has termed his role a challenging job in itself.
The MSD biopic will reveal various untouched moments of the Indian skipper and how a boy from the streets of Ranchi reached the helm of Indian cricket. Sushant said he will have to remain careful while playing Dhoni’s role as it is not easy.
“I can’t add my own interpretations to the character for Dhoni as I could for Byomkesh or for Shekhar Kapoor’s Paani,” Sushant told bollywoodhungama.com. “The minute I will add something that isn’t part of Dhoni’s personality I’ll be caught out.”
Sushant revealed that he is a diehard Dhoni fan and it was pretty challenging to convince himself to act in his autobiography.
“I’ve been his fan for the last ten years,” he added. “I’ve been closely watching him play. The most challenging part of playing Dhoni is to convince myself that I can pull it off. The day it happens I feel I will be able to play Dhoni.”
Sushant insisted that he has started his research to convincingly play Dhoni’s character and is observing captain cool’s body language. He added that he will have to spend more time with Dhoni to know further about him.
“I’ve to not just play Dhoni convincingly,” Sushant said. “I’ve to play like Dhoni to look convincing on screen. I’ve started my research. Whatever he did I have to do. Wherever he stayed I have to go. I want to enter the man’s mind.”
“A few years ago Dhoni was a different person,” he added. “I’ve to understand how he has changed. I’ve to spend time with him.”
